What is the official name of Texas State's campus in Round Rock?

Is the Round Rock Campus accredited?
Yes. Texas State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. The scope of regional accreditation extends to the Round Rock Campus, an approved off-campus instructional site.

Can I complete my degree by taking classes only on the Round Rock Campus?
We are in the process of building out a pathway for students to be able to take classes for the degree programs listed as “offered at Round Rock.” We are currently offering a blend of in-person and online classes and will be adding more courses to the Round Rock rotation annually. Please see the general education rotation and your respective degree program page for a full listing of courses offered for degree programs at Round Rock.

If I complete my degree at the Round Rock Campus, what will my diploma say?
Students who complete their degree requirements at the Round Rock Campus earn a degree from Texas State University. The diploma does not specify which campus students attended.

How accessible are administrators, registrars, financial aid officers, and other TXST staff?
Students will have access to in-person student services on the Round Rock Campus or remotely with service departments on the San Marcos Campus.

How are the student complaints handled at the Texas State Round Rock Campus?
Texas State seeks to maintain the highest standards of integrity and fairness in its relationships with students. A student can initiate a complaint following the university’s Compact with Texans. Is student housing offered at the Round Rock Campus?
Currently, on-campus student housing is not offered at the Round Rock Campus. Students can browse the Round Rock Campus Off-Campus Housing Marketplace to browse nearby apartments and houses that are available for rent.

All students applying should use the “Texas State University – San Marcos” school code.
While filling out your application, choose a major with “Round Rock Campus” in the major's title. For example: “Social Work (Round Rock Campus)”

Are there different admissions requirements for different departments or majors?
Admission requirements depend on the major you have selected. Beyond general university admission requirements, you may need to meet additional entry requirements for your program. For example, most majors in the College of Health Professions have a secondary application process with specific deadlines. Visit the website for your major to check for additional admission requirements.

If I enroll in courses at the Round Rock Campus, will I be studying with the same faculty members as in San Marcos?
Most faculty members who teach courses at the Round Rock Campus also teach in San Marcos. Even when faculty members teach only in Round Rock, they are selected on the same basis as faculty members in the same program at our San Marcos Campus.
The classes offered at our Round Rock Campus are of the same rigor and quality as the classes at our San Marcos Campus.
Transfer Students

Can I attend ACC first, then transfer to the Round Rock Campus to complete my bachelor’s degree?
Texas State University and Austin Community College have joined forces to streamline the transfer process for students, enabling them to smoothly transition and complete four-year degrees. There are scholarships available for eligible transfer students through the Bats to Cats transfer program.
While the Austin Community College (ACC) Career and Transfer Center can assist students with preparing to transfer, it is recommended they contact our Texas State Transfer Navigators and Admissions Counselors for the most up-to-date information. Transfer navigators and admissions counselors also visit ACC campuses on a regular basis and are available virtually.

How do I know how many academic credits will transfer?

- Reach out to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or the Transfer Center to review your evaluated transcript with you and learn how your credits have initially transferred to Texas State.

- After you sign up for New Student Orientation (NSO), make an appointment with your academic advisor. If you would like to see and review your evaluated transcript to prepare for your meeting with your academic advisor, please reach out to the Transfer Center.
- Submit your official transcript(s) to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the address below for an initial credit evaluation. This process can take 2-3 weeks.

If a Texas State program is accredited by a programmatic accreditor, does the same accreditation apply when the program is offered in Round Rock?
Yes. Since Texas State University has a single faculty, a single student body, and a single inventory of degree programs, all programs with professional accreditation that are offered at the San Marcos Campus also have the same professional accreditation at our Round Rock Campus.

Is Texas State Round Rock Campus only a health professions campus?
No, the Texas State Round Rock Campus also offers numerous opportunities in the following colleges: Education, Science and Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, Fine Arts and Communication, and Applied Arts.

Can I take all of the coursework required for a Texas State degree at the Round Rock Campus?
Bachelor's degrees
The Round Rock Campus offers a wide variety of general education courses that allow students to complete the majority of their required coursework in-person. Some programs may require the student to enroll in an courses online in lieu of in-person.
Students who are pursuing a College of Health Professions major will need to complete their lower-level coursework (freshman and sophomore levels) either at the TXST San Marcos campus, online, or at another institution before registering for upper-level classes at the Round Rock Campus.
We are building out the upper-level coursework for the listed RRC undergraduate degree programs. Currently, students can take a combination of in-person and online courses. Keep referencing your respective academic degree page to see course rotations for the upcoming year. More courses will be added within specific degree programs annually so that students will be able to complete degree programs at Round Rock.Master's degrees
For master’s programs offered in Round Rock, the coursework can be completed by taking either in-person classes or online.

When are classes typically offered at the Round Rock Campus?
Class offerings vary depending on the program.
A wide variety of course offerings are available at the Round Rock Campus, ranging from morning classes that begin at 8 am, to evening classes that begin at 6:30 pm. The evening classes are offered with the intention of providing non-traditional students the opportunity to pursue a degree while still fulfilling their daytime commitments.
Please note that programs are expanding in fall 2024.

Can I simultaneously enroll in courses on Texas State's San Marcos Campus and the Round Rock Campus?
Yes.
When completing your FAFSA, please enter our school code (003615) or search for Texas State University and it will appear in the list of schools you can add.
